New Milestone: Overseas College Launched in Laos

Shanghai College of Science and Technology marked a major step in its internationalization journey with the official launch of its Overseas College in Vientiane, Laos, and the successful completion of its first “Chinese + Vocational Skills” training program from June 8–12, 2025. The initiative included a series of collaborative events with local partners, focusing on educational cooperation, skill development, and cultural exchange—paving the way for deeper China-Laos vocational education ties.

Information Technology Club Hosts Smartphone Photography Workshop for Local Seniors

On April 18, the Information Technology Club hosted a hands-on workshop at Jiading Industrial Zone Party-Mass Service Center, teaching local seniors how to use smartphone cameras with confidence. Led by faculty advisor Xu Yuping and student volunteers, the event combined practical instruction with warm community engagement—helping elderly participants capture everyday beauty through the lens of technology.

From May 23–26, the SCST Yoga Team made a historic debut at the 2025 National Fitness Yoga Open in Nanjing, securing 12 honors including a national third-place finish in the College Group Prop Routine. Reading for Growth: Five-School Youth Exchange Highlights Student Voice

On April 23, 2025, students from five Shanghai colleges gathered for a joint reading-themed exchange in celebration of World Book Day. Representing Shanghai Vocational College of Science and Technology, members of the student recitation troupe delivered keynote speeches connecting Xi Jinping’s reading philosophy with their academic and practical experiences. Social Work Star – Zhang Jing

Zhang Jing, a 2014 Social Work graduate from Shanghai College of Science and Technology, volunteered in rural Guizhou, where she overcame serious injuries to continue teaching and supporting local children. Her efforts brought aid to hundreds of students through donation drives and hands-on support, earning national media recognition and exemplifying the spirit of social work.

Ma Yuan, a top Art & Design graduate, stands out for her leadership, academic excellence, and creative achievements. She earned national awards, led major campus initiatives, and actively contributed to student life. Guided by her motto—“Climb high, travel far—see the world, and find yourself”—she continues to grow through passion, purpose, and service.

Crowned with Honor – Bronze Award at the World Vocational Education Skills Competition

A student team from the School of Intelligent Manufacturing at Shanghai College of Science and Technology won bronze in the Intelligent Connected Vehicles category at the World Vocational College Skills Competition, showcasing the college’s strength in smart vehicle education.
