New Milestone: Overseas College Launched in Laos

Shanghai College of Science and Technology marked a major step in its internationalization journey with the official launch of its Overseas College in Vientiane, Laos, and the successful completion of its first “Chinese + Vocational Skills” training program from June 8–12, 2025. The initiative included a series of collaborative events with local partners, focusing on educational cooperation, skill development, and cultural exchange—paving the way for deeper China-Laos vocational education ties.

Information Technology Club Hosts Smartphone Photography Workshop for Local Seniors

On April 18, the Information Technology Club hosted a hands-on workshop at Jiading Industrial Zone Party-Mass Service Center, teaching local seniors how to use smartphone cameras with confidence. Led by faculty advisor Xu Yuping and student volunteers, the event combined practical instruction with warm community engagement—helping elderly participants capture everyday beauty through the lens of technology.

Our Yoga Team Triumphs at the 2025 National Competition in Tangshan!

From May 23-26, the SCST Yoga Team made its historic debut at the 2025 National Fitness Yoga Open in Nanjing, achieving remarkable success with 12 honors including a national third-place finish in the College Group Prop Routine. Comprising eight first-year students selected from the university's yoga elective program, the team demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication - a testament to the success of our institution's innovative, interest-based physical education reforms.

Faculty and students at Shanghai College of Science and Technology have collaboratively developed a Quadrotor Drone Teaching Toolkit, combining academic knowledge with hands-on innovation. This toolkit enhances practical learning in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) education and supports industry training needs, such as CAAC-certified drone pilot programs. It exemplifies SCST’s commitment to applied research and industry collaboration.

Another National First Prize Win!

On July 26, 2023, the E-Commerce event of the National Vocational Students Skills Competition (Higher Vocational Group) concluded in Guangdong. Four students from Shanghai College of Science and Technology won First Prize, earning the city’s first national gold in this category. Their instructors also received “Excellent Instructor Awards.” The team’s strong skills and collaboration brought honor to the college and the city.
