To enhance teaching management and improve student competition coaching, a team from the School of Business and Management visited Jiaxing Vocational and Technical College on June 18, 2024, for a professional exchange focused on skill competition preparation and program development.

On June 18, 2024, in an effort to enhance teaching management and improve coaching for student skills competitions, Zhang Yaoxiang, Dean of the School of Business and Management, led a delegation of four—Fei Liya, Hu Rongrong, and Wang Yunshi—on a visit to Jiaxing Vocational and Technical College for a learning exchange. The visit was warmly received by Qiao Haiyan, Dean of the School of Culture and Tourism at Jiaxing Vocational and Technical College, along with Hu Xiaoqin, Program Lead for Study Tour Management and Services, and core faculty member Jiang Xinsheng.

Qiao Haiyan extended a warm welcome to the visiting team and provided a detailed overview of the college’s development history, the construction of its program clusters, its community engagement initiatives, and its experience in guiding students through competitions.

Zhang Yaoxiang introduced the general profile of the college and highlighted the School of Business and Management’s strengths in program development, industry-education integration, the pilot implementation of China’s Modern Apprenticeship model, and student participation in skills competitions. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions, particularly on the coaching methods and incentive mechanisms for the 2024 National Vocational College Skills Competition’s Study Tour Project.

Following the meeting, accompanied by Qiao Haiyan, the delegation toured the Jiaxing Institute of Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Jiangnan Watertown Culture Research Institute.

This exchange provided deeper insights into the practical measures and approaches taken by peer institutions in areas such as curriculum integration, competition preparation, education reform, and social service. It also contributed to enhancing the professional development of the Tourism Management program and improving the school’s coaching capacity for future student competitions.
