From January 18 to 20, 2025, the first session of the “Belt and Road” Youth Overseas Digital Marketing Training Camp (Shanghai Products Going Global) was successfully held in Shanghai. This event was organized by the “Belt and Road” Modern Service Industry Technical Skills Talent Training Center, which was jointly established by the Shanghai Modern Service Industry Federation, Shanghai College of Science and Technology, Shanghai Shizhi Human Resources Company, and Shanghai Human Resources Service Industry Park Hongqiao Park. The training center aims to cultivate international digital marketing talent, promote the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce, and support the implementation of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

The opening ceremony of the first training camp was grandly held at the Hongqiao International Exhibition and Convention Center. During the ceremony, Ma Jianchao, Director of the Vocational Education Department of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, delivered a speech. He emphasized that cross-border e-commerce and digital marketing have become crucial forces in driving international trade development and expressed hope that this training camp would cultivate more cross-border e-commerce digital marketing talents with practical experience. Yang Junhe, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Modern Service Industry Federation and Director of the “Belt and Road” Modern Service Industry Technical Skills Talent Training Center, reviewed the ten-year achievements of the “Belt and Road” Initiative in his speech. He also expressed hope that this training camp would serve as an opportunity to help young people from “Belt and Road” countries enhance their professional and technical skills and contribute to the development of the global digital economy.

The training courses of the camp were conducted at the Minhang campus of the Shanghai College of Science and Technology. The curriculum covered various aspects, including consumer habits in major global markets, cross-border marketing strategies, logistics and supply chain management, risk management, and intellectual property protection. Through hands-on exercises, case studies, and interactive Q&A sessions, participants not only mastered the fundamental theories and skills of digital marketing but also gained in-depth insights into overseas market trends and potential opportunities.

During the training, participants worked in teams to complete multiple cross-border e-commerce digital marketing projects. Through teamwork, they developed brand promotion strategies tailored to different overseas markets and carried out practical exercises in a simulated environment. At the closing ceremony, each team presented their project results, including marketing videos and live-streaming data analysis, showcasing their creativity and skills. The organizers selected outstanding teams and individuals, awarding them honorary certificates and prizes to encourage them to apply their knowledge and skills in their future careers and contribute to the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

The training camp also invited several experts and mentors with extensive experience in cross-border e-commerce and digital marketing to give lectures and share their insights. Drawing from their practical experience, they provided valuable advice and guidance to the participants. Many attendees expressed that the expert-led sessions gave them a deeper understanding of digital marketing and strengthened their confidence and enthusiasm for pursuing careers in the cross-border e-commerce industry.

As an essential part of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, cross-border e-commerce has become a vital bridge for Chinese enterprises to expand globally. The successful hosting of the “Belt and Road” Youth Overseas Digital Marketing Training Camp not only provided young students with a platform to collaborate with international enterprises and learn the latest digital marketing strategies but also injected new momentum into the high-quality development of the cross-border e-commerce industry.
