Our yoga team excelled at the 4th Shanghai Citizens Games finals, earning top rankings and the Outstanding Organization Award. Guided by Ms. Chen Yanke, the team’s strong debut reflects our school’s thriving sports culture.

On October 20, the finals of the Fitness Yoga Competition of the 4th Shanghai Citizens Games and the “Changshou Cup” Shanghai Fitness Yoga Championship successfully concluded at Putuo Sports Center. The event attracted over 200 yoga enthusiasts from 23 teams, including participants from 13 districts, 6 universities, and 2 enterprises and institutions. It was a stunning showcase of strength and grace, softness and power, form and posture, movement and stillness.

For the first time, a university division was introduced in the finals, providing a stage for college students to demonstrate their talent. Competition among universities was especially fierce, with more than 30 participants competing on the same stage. Guided by Ms. Chen Yanke from the Department of Physical Education, our six-member team achieved outstanding results in their debut performance. Student Hu Shuqian placed 6th, breaking into the top eight, while the other five team members placed 9th, 11th, 12th, 15th, and 17th respectively. Their excellent performance received unanimous praise from the judges. Our school was also recognized as an Outstanding Organization, and Ms. Chen Yanke was awarded the title of Outstanding Judge.

The yoga team was officially established on September 12, 2024, under the guidance of Ms. Chen Yanke. The six selected members trained intensively for one month, and their hard work paid off with these impressive results. After the competition, He Yunjian, Head of the Department of Physical Education, congratulated the team for their achievements and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence and bring further honors to the school.

This remarkable performance by our yoga team was made possible thanks to the support of the Foundation Department and school leadership, as well as the dedicated coaching by Ms. Chen Yanke. We are confident that, with continued efforts from all faculty and students, our campus sports culture will flourish and achieve even greater success in the future.
