To better serve society and meet diverse learner needs, Shanghai College of Science and Technology (SCST) and Shanghai Open University Affiliated High School (SOUAHS) have officially partnered to establish an adult high school education teaching site (with language specialization) at SCST’s Minhang campus. This collaboration leverages the college’s facilities and industry-academia-research bases, aligning with regional educational strategies to explore new pathways for educating children of migrant workers from other provinces who are contributing to Shanghai’s new era of development.
On January 3, 2025, SCST and SOUAHS held in-depth discussions at SCST’s Minhang campus, followed by an unveiling ceremony for the SOUAHS teaching site at SCST. Attendees included Hu Xiaohui (CPC Committee Member, Discipline Inspection Secretary, and Vice President of SCST), Guo Wei (Director of Minhang Campus Management Office and Dean of International Education College), Hou Yameng (Deputy Director of Minhang Campus Management Office and Vice Dean of International Education College), Hong Jianfeng (Party Branch Secretary of SOUAHS), Zhu Hongying (Director of Teaching Department at SOUAHS), Xi Xiaojing (Deputy Director of Comprehensive Department at SOUAHS), Hu Xiang (Project Manager of SOUAHS SCST Teaching Site and Principal of Shangning Continuing Education College), and Zhou Lin (Board Chairman of Shangning Continuing Education College).
During the meeting, Hu Xiaohui warmly welcomed the SOUAHS leaders and experts, briefly introducing SCST’s development history, educational characteristics, and recent achievements in international cooperation and exchange. Guo Wei detailed the International Education College and Minhang campus, emphasizing the college’s unique advantages in vocational education and international schooling. Hu Xiang reported on the teaching site’s enrollment and teaching preparations, showcasing its readiness in curriculum, faculty, and facilities. Hong Jianfeng outlined the teaching site’s work plan, stressing the importance of teaching quality and management, and pledged full support for its construction and development. The representatives then engaged in in-depth discussions, reaching a consensus on better serving students and improving teaching quality.
Amidst applause, the unveiling ceremony for the SOUAHS SCST teaching site took place, marking the official launch of this project.
The establishment of the SOUAHS teaching site at SCST will provide more diverse educational options for high school students, fostering excellent talents that meet societal needs and industry development requirements.
