Program Highlights:
Recognized as a First-Class Major in Shanghai and actively involved in developing national professional service standards. The teaching team has been awarded as a Shanghai Municipal Teaching Innovation Team.
The program is characterized by practicality, interdisciplinarity, and professionalism, with a strong emphasis on the training and application of practical skills in social work. It focuses on instilling professional values and cultivating highly skilled social work professionals with a solid theoretical foundation and proficient professional abilities.
Centering on community needs and addressing livelihood issues, the program prepares students to provide professional services. Social workers have become an essential force in grassroots governance in modern society.
Core Courses:
Social Service Project Planning and Management, Social Research Methods, Casework in Social Work, Community Social Work, Social Work with the Elderly, Social Work Workshops, Introduction to Psychology.
Key Practicals:
Students participate in project development and management at professional social work agencies and community service centers. Internship bases are co-established with Pudong Social Work Association and Jing’an Social Work Association. Talent cultivation and project incubation bases are jointly developed with Shanghai Medical Insurance Bureau, Jiading District Civil Affairs Bureau, Jiading Industrial Zone Management Committee, and various community service centers.
Career Pathways:
Graduates can work in well-known social work agencies, community service centers, social welfare organizations, foundations, schools, hospitals, and related government departments in roles involving project planning and implementation. Graduates are currently employed at Shanghai Fuyuan Social Work Office, Shanghai Pudong Leqi Social Work Service, Shanghai Philanthropy Social Work Office, Shanghai Lequn Social Work Service, Shanghai Puhang Xincheng Community Service Station, among others.
