In response to the growing trend of digital education, the School of Communication and Electronic Engineering held a specialized workshop on July 3 to promote the development of high-quality online open courses and digital teaching resources. Associate Professor Kan Baopeng from Suzhou Industrial Park Vocational College of Service Outsourcing was invited to lead the training. The session focused on leveraging modern technology to enhance teaching quality and resource accessibility, attracting active participation from faculty members and receiving enthusiastic feedback.

The workshop featured three core segments, each closely aligned with current trends in online education. Professor Kan began by exploring the broader context of vocational education reform, providing a comprehensive overview of project application requirements on public information service platforms. He outlined the goals of digital curriculum development and illustrated how these efforts could improve interactivity, learning efficiency, and flexibility in teaching.

Building on that foundation, Professor Kan emphasized the long-term objective of developing first-class vocational education courses. He detailed the necessary steps for digital transformation, including content innovation and diverse resource integration. This helped participants gain a clearer understanding of how to approach high-standard course development in practice.

The highlight of the workshop was the practical, hands-on training where Professor Kan demonstrated various tools and techniques. He covered how to create engaging online course videos, design visually compelling and pedagogically effective PowerPoint presentations, produce course animations using online resources, and apply AI technologies in digital content development. The session blended theory with practice, inspiring participants with fresh ideas and actionable methods.
Lasting four hours, the workshop fostered a dynamic and interactive learning atmosphere. Faculty members expressed that the training was rich in content and highly applicable, providing both a deeper understanding of online course development and a valuable toolkit for future teaching. Professor Kan’s deep expertise and practical experience were highly praised by attendees.
This event underscored the school’s commitment to advancing educational technology and supporting faculty growth. By building platforms for professional exchange and continuous improvement, the school aims to create more high-quality online open courses and provide diverse, top-tier learning resources for students, advancing educational excellence across the institution.
