Social Work Star – Zhang Jing

Zhang Jing, a 2014 Social Work graduate from Shanghai College of Science and Technology, volunteered in rural Guizhou, where she overcame serious injuries to continue teaching and supporting local children. Her efforts brought aid to hundreds of students through donation drives and hands-on support, earning national media recognition and exemplifying the spirit of social work.

Ma Yuan, a top Art & Design graduate, stands out for her leadership, academic excellence, and creative achievements. She earned national awards, led major campus initiatives, and actively contributed to student life. Guided by her motto—“Climb high, travel far—see the world, and find yourself”—she continues to grow through passion, purpose, and service.

How can students continuously enhance their innovation and entrepreneurial abilities in practice, and turn strategic business concepts into successful projects? At Shanghai College of Science and Technology, innovation and entrepreneurship have always been a top priority. The university actively promotes reform in innovation and entrepreneurship education systems, strengthens faculty development, and fosters students’ entrepreneurial mindset, aiming to build a distinctive educational brand in this field.

Two student-led projects, Ruida Exploration and Smart Riveting Pioneers, were recently awarded Gold in the Creative Group of the Vocational Track at the 2024 China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (Shanghai Division). Grateful for the recognition, the winning students expressed that the award not only affirms the value of their projects but also serves as a strong encouragement for their teamwork and innovation capabilities. The Journey from SCST to Prestigious Overseas Universities: A Dream-Chasing Odyssey

Guo Siyi, a 2020 E-commerce student at the School of Business and Trade Management of Shanghai Vocational College of Science and Technology, began her studies at the University of South Wales in the UK in September 2023. After graduating in 2024, she continued her academic pursuits by enrolling in a Master’s program at the University of York.
