Launched in 1991, this program has many years of teaching and training experience, supported by a strong and experienced faculty team. The Automotive Training Center is a 3-star Open Training Center, with a total area of 5,121 square meters, equipment assets worth over 38.11 million RMB, and 388 workstations. It includes 16 specialized training labs, such as the Engine Structure and Maintenance Lab and New Energy Vehicles Lab, as well as one auxiliary storage facility.
The teaching team has earned numerous awards in various teaching competitions and has led students to win multiple gold medals in Shanghai and national vocational skills competitions. The program has also partnered with SAIC Motor’s Roewe new energy vehicle 4S store, bringing a real-world dealership into the school. By adjusting part of the training space and equipment, it has created a “front shop, back workshop” learning environment that combines school and enterprise resources. Students can complete internships without leaving campus, and some practical courses can even be delivered directly within enterprise settings.
The program also collaborates with the Jiading District Branch of the Shanghai Technician Association’s Automotive Committee to establish a part-time automotive technician instructor talent pool.
Career paths include automotive mechanics, new energy vehicle technicians, vehicle inspection and maintenance personnel, service advisors, automotive sales representatives, technical consultants, used car appraisers, as well as roles in intelligent connected vehicle R&D support and operations.
This program at Shanghai Dazhong Technical School is part of a Secondary-to-Higher Vocational Education Integration pathway with the Automotive Inspection and Maintenance Technology major at Shanghai College of Science and Technology.
