Established in 2005, this is a key program at the school. Following the school’s educational goal of developing “Wisdom in Arts, Adaptability, and Responsibility,” the program cultivates applied talents with artistic literacy, innovative design concepts, aesthetic appreciation, and practical skills. In collaboration with industry partners such as Shanghai Zixiang Engineering Supervision Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Honghu Design, the program has established a remote collaborative design studio and developed a multi-party interactive remote teaching model.
Career pathways include integrated interior design, whole-house customization, and digital project management. Graduates typically serve industries in architectural decoration, interior design, and cultural and creative sectors, taking on roles in drafting, full-service decoration design, customized interior projects, and digital management of design projects.
This program at Shanghai Material Engineering School is part of the Secondary-to-Higher Vocational Education Integration initiative with the Art & Design (Environmental and Exhibition Design) program at Shanghai College of Science and Technology.
