English Association

The English Association, established in 1996, is a professional student organization affiliated with the Applied English program of the School of Art and Design. It is also one of the earliest student associations founded at our university.

The association is dedicated to fostering a positive English-speaking environment and enhancing students’ interest and competence in English learning and application. It organizes a variety of engaging activities such as English speech contests and English calligraphy competitions to help members improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Through regular events like original English film appreciation sessions, students explore different cultures and improve their language intuition by learning authentic spoken expressions. The association also hosts English PPT presentation contests, calligraphy competitions, and workshops for the CET-4 and CET-6 exams, where students can share preparation strategies and learn practical tips to increase their pass rates.

In addition, the association offers advanced sessions on English interpretation and cross-cultural communication to boost motivation, develop comprehensive student abilities, discover talents, and enrich campus culture.
