The General Education Department
The Department of General Education is responsible for teaching core public courses such as mathematics, information technology, and physical education, while also managing campus sports activities and facilities. With a team of over 20 highly qualified faculty members—including award-winning educators and experienced researchers—the department is committed to excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and academic research. It has published numerous textbooks, produced over 100 academic papers (including SCI-indexed ones), and achieved strong results in national modeling competitions and city-level sports events.

Information Technology Club Hosts Smartphone Photography Workshop for Local Seniors
On April 18, the Information Technology Club hosted a hands-on workshop at Jiading Industrial Zone Party-Mass Service Center, teaching local seniors how to use smartphone cameras with confidence. Led by faculty advisor Xu Yuping and student volunteers, the event combined practical instruction with warm community engagement—helping elderly participants capture everyday beauty through the lens of technology.

Our Yoga Team Triumphs at the 2025 National Competition in Tangshan!
From May 23–26, the SCST Yoga Team made a historic debut at the 2025 National Fitness Yoga Open in Nanjing, securing 12 honors including a national third-place finish in the College Group Prop Routine. All eight team members, first-year students selected from the school’s yoga elective, showcased their talent and dedication—highlighting the success of the school’s interest-based physical education reform.

Congratulations to Our Newly Certified Basketball Referees!
Recently, 24 new basketball referees from our school completed their certification training—8 achieving Level 2 and 16 earning Level 3 credentials. This marks a significant step in our efforts to develop qualified officiating talent and contribute to the professionalization of campus basketball events. The program covered rules, signals, game management, and real-match simulations, equipping participants with both technical skills and professional ethics essential for fair play.

Physical Education Teaching and Research
The Physical Education Teaching and Research Section at SCST provides PE instruction to all 78 classes across the campus. With a team of 3 full-time teachers and 10 part-time instructors, the section offers a wide range of sports education using adapted Shanghai University teaching materials. It supports five student sports clubs (basketball, badminton, table tennis, street dance, and taekwondo) and has formed competitive teams that have achieved excellent results in district and city-level events. The section plays a key role in promoting student fitness, sportsmanship, and community engagement through both instruction and extracurricular activities.
Computer Fundamentals Teaching and Research
The office delivers foundational computer education for all majors, with a team of full-time and part-time instructors from top universities. It offers Computer Fundamentals A and B courses, supports students in passing the Shanghai Computer Proficiency Test (Level 1), and emphasizes hands-on skills in office software, multimedia, and web design. A 2014 teaching reform introduced fully lab-based instruction, greatly improving learning outcomes and test pass rates.
Mathematics Teaching and Research
The Mathematics Teaching and Research Office offers core math courses like Advanced Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling, and trains students for national math competitions. The team includes experienced faculty focused on building students’ foundational knowledge and problem-solving skills. They’ve published research, led teaching reforms, and earned multiple awards in national and regional contests.
