The Industrial Robot Technology Application program at Shanghai Dazhong Technical School was launched in 2021. It builds upon the strong foundation of the municipal-level “Operation and Control of Electrical Equipment” program and shares resources with the school’s 4-star Open Training Center, virtual simulation labs, and city-level metaverse initiative. It is also one of the first “Industrial Robot Application Bases” under the Jiading Vocational Education Group and a founding member of the national Energy Equipment Industry-Education Integration Alliance.

The program features a highly qualified teaching team. In recent years, instructors have been repeatedly recognized for their excellence in guiding students in national vocational competitions (such as the “Hydraulic and Pneumatic System Assembly and Maintenance” event), and have received first prizes in the Shanghai Secondary Vocational School Education Method Reform Exchange, Teaching Ability Competitions, and the Starlight Plan.

Graduates can pursue careers in system debugging, operations, and maintenance of industrial robot systems. Specific roles include installation and debugging of robot stations, operation and programming, maintenance, system integration, design and simulation, technical support, and sales.

This program at Shanghai Dazhong Technical School is part of a Secondary-to-Higher Vocational Education Integration pathway with the Industrial Robotic Technology major at Shanghai College of Science and Technology.

Launched in 1991, this program has many years of teaching and training experience, supported by a strong and experienced faculty team. The Automotive Training Center is a 3-star Open Training Center, with a total area of 5,121 square meters, equipment assets worth over 38.11 million RMB, and 388 workstations. It includes 16 specialized training labs, such as the Engine Structure and Maintenance Lab and New Energy Vehicles Lab, as well as one auxiliary storage facility.

The teaching team has earned numerous awards in various teaching competitions and has led students to win multiple gold medals in Shanghai and national vocational skills competitions. The program has also partnered with SAIC Motor’s Roewe new energy vehicle 4S store, bringing a real-world dealership into the school. By adjusting part of the training space and equipment, it has created a “front shop, back workshop” learning environment that combines school and enterprise resources. Students can complete internships without leaving campus, and some practical courses can even be delivered directly within enterprise settings.

The program also collaborates with the Jiading District Branch of the Shanghai Technician Association’s Automotive Committee to establish a part-time automotive technician instructor talent pool.

Career paths include automotive mechanics, new energy vehicle technicians, vehicle inspection and maintenance personnel, service advisors, automotive sales representatives, technical consultants, used car appraisers, as well as roles in intelligent connected vehicle R&D support and operations.
