Recently, the inaugural meeting of the Committee and its first council members’ representative assembly was held in Beijing, with leaders from the Ministry of Education and the China Adult Education Association delivering speeches. A total of 101 institutions—including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, other universities and vocational colleges, as well as enterprises and institutions—were admitted as founding members. Our university was unanimously elected to the Executive Council, with Vice President Zeng Xiping also elected as a member.

The Higher Education Continuing Education Development Committee is a professional branch of the China Adult Education Association, dedicated to academic research, theoretical training, practical validation, achievement promotion, and consulting services in the field of higher education continuing education. Its mission is to build a standardized, open, and high-quality continuing education ecosystem, promote educational reform and innovation, and contribute to the development of a strong educational nation.

Our university will seize this opportunity to further enhance the quality and substance of its continuing education programs and elevate its overall level.

To strengthen cadre team building, broaden perspectives, enhance performance capacity, and improve management skills, our university hosted the 2023 summer training program for mid-level cadres of Jiangsu Haimen Secondary Vocational School from July 25 to July 30, 2023. The six-day training program welcomed over 50 participants.

The opening ceremony took place on the morning of July 26, with key attendees including Zhou Sheng, Party Secretary of our university; Han Fang, Deputy Party Secretary and President; Song Jian, Party Secretary of Haimen Secondary Vocational School; Mao Yijuan, Deputy Party Secretary and Principal of Haimen Secondary Vocational School; as well as participating mid-level cadres. The ceremony was hosted by our university’s Vice President Zeng Xiping.

Meticulously organized, the training featured comprehensive, practical, and targeted content delivered through expert lectures, site visits to schools and enterprises, and red education-themed field trips. Party Secretary Zhou Sheng delivered a keynote report titled “Strengthening the Party’s Overall Leadership in Schools and Improving Cadres’ Leadership and Execution Capabilities.”

Participants visited significant red education sites such as the site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the former residence of Chen Yun, gaining historical insights and inspiration from revolutionary pioneers and role models.

Furthermore, the delegation toured Shanghai Baidu Apollo Park and NIO Shanghai to experience firsthand the integration of school-enterprise cooperation and industry-education collaboration, exploring innovative models for talent development.

This training program marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between our university and Jiangsu Haimen Secondary Vocational School. Through ongoing exchange and mutual learning, both institutions aim to jointly explore new talent cultivation models and promote collaboration in academic development, talent training, and industry-education integration.
