Shanghai Material Engineering School
Founded in 1979, Shanghai Materials Engineering School is a public secondary vocational school under the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. It is a nationally recognized key secondary vocational school and one of the first featured model schools for reform and development in Shanghai’s secondary vocational education system. It is also a designated high-quality secondary vocational school in Shanghai.
The school has been named a “Shanghai Civilized Campus” for 22 consecutive years and has received numerous honors, including Model School for Law-Based Governance, Model School for Student Conduct, Model School for Family Education, and Advanced Collective in the Shanghai Education System.
In alignment with Shanghai’s economic development and rooted in the school’s distinctive “Wisdom & Bamboo” culture, the curriculum focuses on “Smart Living,” “Smart Manufacturing,” and “Smart Innovation,” forming three major program clusters: Materials Applications, Intelligent Manufacturing, and Digital Creativity, encompassing a total of nine majors. Among them, the Intelligent Equipment Operation and Maintenance program is recognized as a branded, key, and featured specialty in Shanghai.
The school has received two First Prizes for Teaching Achievement in Shanghai. In recent years, under the educational philosophy of cultivating students with “Wisdom in Arts, Adaptability, and Responsibility,” the school aims to nurture highly skilled talents who embody strong professional ethics, solid academic foundations, advanced technical skills, and excellent digital literacy.
