Shanghai Science and Technology Management School is a national key secondary vocational school, one of the first Shanghai Model Schools for Secondary Vocational Education Reform and Development, a Shanghai Family Education Demonstration School, a Shanghai Law-based School Governance Standard School, a Shanghai Advanced Unit in Vocational Education, a Shanghai Experimental School for Curriculum and Teaching Material Reform in Secondary Vocational Education, a Shanghai Safe and Civilized Campus, a Shanghai Advanced Unit in Secondary Vocational Information Technology, and a Shanghai Demonstration School for Code of Conduct in Primary and Secondary Schools.
The school offers 14 majors, including Cybersecurity, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Operation and Maintenance, Computer Network Technology, and Business English. Among these, there is 1 Shanghai Demonstrative Brand Major, 2 Shanghai Brand Majors, 1 Secondary-to-Bachelor Integrated Major, and 3 Secondary-to-Higher Vocational Education Integrated Majors. The school has established 3 Shanghai Open Training Centers for Vocational Education and 20 training laboratories.
Teachers have repeatedly won national and municipal awards in various teaching competitions, while students have frequently won gold and silver medals in major national and municipal vocational skills competitions.
The school is among the first group of National Demonstration Schools for Reform and Development of Secondary Vocational Education. It has been honored as a National Advanced Collective in the Education System for three consecutive terms, a National Model Institution for Vocational Education, the Chair Unit of the National Secondary Vocational School Principals’ Joint Conference, and one of the Top 50 Schools in Teaching Management among National Vocational Institutions.
It was also selected as one of the first pilot schools for teaching diagnosis and improvement in national secondary vocational schools, and as one of the first Benchmark Schools for Educational Informatization Application in Shanghai. The school has received the prestigious Huang Yanpei Outstanding School Award (Second Session) and has been recognized as a Shanghai Municipal Civilized Unit for 30 consecutive years across 15 terms since 1991.
It has also been awarded First and Second Prizes in the National Teaching Achievement Awards multiple times. With lush greenery and a beautiful campus environment, the school is also recognized as a National Model for Campus Greening.
The university currently has 15 secondary colleges; offers 38 undergraduate programs and 1 professional master’s degree authorization point. Among its full-time faculty, there are more than 90 with senior professional titles, over 340 with associate senior titles, and more than 650 with doctoral degrees.
There are 2 innovation research bases for humanities and social sciences in Shanghai universities, 2 think tanks of Shanghai universities, and 4 research institutions (platforms) including the Shanghai Collaborative Innovation Center, the Research Base for Service Economy and the Construction of Shanghai International Financial Center, the Shanghai Counselor Workstation, and the Work Office for Non-Standing Members of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress.
The university strengthens the construction of a civilized campus and is the leading unit of the National Integrity Culture Education Alliance in Universities. It has continuously been awarded the title of “Shanghai Civilized Unit” for many years, and in 2019, won the first “Shanghai Civilized Campus” title.
